Artist's Comments

(t-shirt template is from Threadless.com, but I didn't submit it there) We made silkscreen prints in Art intensive. The theme was socio-political, so I decided to do an old piece of union propaganda. This is based after an old poster created by the Industrial Workers of the World, aka the One Big Union (see: [link]). I don't sympathize with their group really, but I have really liked the poster aesthetically for a while, so I scanned it out of my history textbook and made a stencil. This is the mock-up design for what it will hopefully look like when I print it on a shirt.

haha, I was kind of unaware that the IWW is still around when I made my stencil. (their heyday was the 1920's) Well, that means I just won't wear the t-shirt if I ever go to interview for a position in a factory!?!? (Don't think that will be a problem though).

I like the colors, and the overall effect is quite pleasing =)
